5 well connected offices in Wakefield

The city of Wakefield in West Yorkshire was once the battleground for the Wars of the Roses’ bloodiest battles but it’s now a key commercial area in the North West of England. During the 18th century, Wakefield was a centre of trading activity, with corn and textiles being traded and harvested across the city. Coal mining was also big business in Wakefield until the Wakefield pits closed in the early 1980s. After a tricky economic period following this, the city’s economy began to flourish once again in the 2000s-2010s, thanks to a number of regeneration projects including the Trinity Walk retail development.

Here’s our pick of the best offices in the Wakefield area.

Unit 2-3 Calder Close

Located just off the M1 Motorway, this spacious office will make a well-connected home for a small business. A glass panelled entrance foyer lets lots of light into the building, while large windows throughout make each floor feel bright and inviting. The office also has plenty of excellent facilities, including a shower (ideal if you have colleagues who commute in by bike), air conditioning and partitioned space to offer privacy from other businesses who share the floor.

Unit B – Denby Dale Road

This bright and airy office is also close to the M1 Motorway, down near Durkar, and is ideal for any business seeking its first home or a larger base. Newly refurbished, the space feels modern and light thanks to large ribbon windows and LED lights and you’ll enjoy excellent facilities including a shower and newly installed kitchenette. There’s also plenty of parking for your team, making commuting in from across Wakefield and surrounding areas easy.

4-6 Newstead Road

If you’re hunting for an office space that feels less commercial, choose this 19th century location. It was built in 1890 but refurbished to an excellent standard, so will make the ideal home for a small, creative business or sole trader seeking a place to work. The red brick façade also gives the building a cosy, residential appearance. Just six minutes’ walk from Wakefield Westgate station and just off the major A61 Leeds Road, it’s easy to reach, too.

5 South Para

This impressive grade II listed Georgian property has plenty of lovely period features, including large sash windows, an ornate doorway arch and curved arch windows above the garage. Inside, the spacious rooms benefit from plenty of natural light, accentuated by clean white walls and period light fixtures. You’ll also have access to kitchen facilities and off-road parking for up to 10 cars, so it’s ideal if you and your team prefer to commute in by road.

International House

Those with a larger team will love this modern office space, which sits close to Wakefield’s centre just off the A638. The unique pyramid-shaped atrium lets an abundance of light into the building’s entrance, while windows on every wall of each floor ensures the space doesn’t feel dark inside. It’s fully air-conditioned and has a secure door entry system, so you’ll be comfortable and safe all year round.
