Interesting facts about Harringay

The famous Harringay ladder development was built in the late 1890s and has remained one of the most exciting areas for commercial and domestic property agents in north London.

The wider borough of Haringey, where Harringay is located, has achieved Green Flag status for its eight picturesque parks.

An estimated 193 languages are spoken throughout the borough, with Harringay itself boasting a diverse population, including lots of Turkish residents.

Haringey (borough) and Harringey (area) are spelt differently, but no one really knows why. The name derives from the Saxon ‘Haeringes-hege’, but the reason for the different spellings remains a confusing mystery to many.
