Commercial property guide: Charlton - London

Commercial properties to rent in Charlton

History meets the modern day in Charlton, one of south east London’s most underrated yet exciting areas. It’s part of the Royal borough of Greenwich and sits on the southern bank of the River Thames. At its centre is Charlton Village, which has developed into a bustling retail hub over the years, packed with familiar brands and local businesses. To the north, Charlton’s riverside streets, including the aptly named Anchor and Hope Lane, are home to modern industrial estates just a stone’s throw from the busy docklands.

Charlton’s homes are a mix of classic Victorian buildings and modern family homes, and are generally considered more affordable than properties in other London boroughs. Many are clustered around Charlton’s green spaces, including Charlton Park, Hornfair Park and Barrack Field, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. And when it’s time to relax, there’s plenty to do here, whether you fancy a dip in the open-air Charlton Lido or stop for a bite to eat in the Village.

Though Charlton may seem like a less obvious place to base your business, the area has plenty going for it. It’s within 30 minutes’ journey of central hubs like Canary Wharf and is just a short hop from London City Airport, making it ideal if you welcome international clients regularly.
